UmbraCity

UmbraCity’s network of smart umbrella sharing kiosks allows people to borrow and return umbrellas when and where they need them. Originally developed as a solution for Vancouver’s (occasionally rainy) UBC Campus,  UmbraCity Kiosks are now found throughout the Lower Mainland and at multiple university and corporate campuses.

Tangram Design assisted UmbraCity with the design, prototyping, and production of their network of kiosks. Initially we focused on the development of a large system capable of holding 30+ umbrellas. The success of the initial system led to the development of a smaller 10 umbrella system suitable for smaller building lobbies and condominiums.
